Marathon effort in memory of Rorie

In September, 2002, an old friend of mine, Rorie Duncan died suddenly having completed the Moscow Marathon. He was 29.

Rorie had spent his adult life working for Medicins Sans Frontieres, a Charity that specialise in getting aid to war torn regions when all other Charities have pulled out due to the dangers in providing the aid. At the time he died Rorie had been working in Chechnya, in some of the most hostile conditions imaginable. Rorie's parents lost their other son, Alex, when he was just 19, fleeing Kuwait at the beginning of the Gulf war.

In tribute to Rorie and his family, I will be running the Robin Hood Half Marathon on Sept 14th, 2003, and raising money for MSF. As some of you know, my best distance is usually the ten yards to the bar, or at a push, half the length of a rugby field. I've never tried anything like this before, but I'm hoping that Rorie and any sponsorship I am able to raise, will help pull me along the 13.1 miles.

If anyone would like to contribute, that would be great.
