Three white wines, three red wines, eighteen descriptions and one very enjoyable evening!
This was the first WOBS 'Call My Bluff' wine tasting and was held at the Officers Mess, Inns of Court & City Yeomanry London. The format was simple and closely followed the well known TV show but instead of words, the bluffing was about wine! The panel of Eddie (Dobbo) Robinson, Ben Babbington and Nick Butterworth took the audience through a tasting of six wines with each panel member giving their take on the wine and by the end of the evening the descriptions were becoming more and more flowery as the audience got louder and louder!,

The photos prove what a successful night it was, just a shame the handlebar moustache sported by Nick Butterworth cannot be spotted. It was great to see WOBS again and for some, this was a first visit to an official WOBS 'do' since leaving Worth.
The evening was won convincingly by the WOBS RFC table - little did the panel know that one of their team worked for a very well known wine merchant and this may account for their relaxed appearance at the start of the competition! Their cards have been marked for next year!

Kind thanks to Richard Nunn (B'81) of Louis Latour, Ben Drummond of Berkmann Wines (R'83), Simon McMenemy (R'89)and Nick Butterworth (G'76) for generously donating the wines, making it a hugely succesful evening.
